Principal's Corner

We are excited to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year at Mount Zion Middle School. We are one of six middle schools within the Carroll County School System. The tradition of Mt. Zion started in 1881. This strong community has the distinction of having the oldest continuous school in Carroll County. What began as a small, one-room Mt. Zion Seminary has become the sprawling, beautiful facilities we enjoy today.

The Mt. Zion Community has always been resilient. Past generations of Eagles have left a legacy of hard work and dedication to their family, school, and community. Our past has helped shape the current culture and climate of Mt. Zion Middle School. Throughout this school’s history, its commitment to equipping students to rise and soar as Eagles have been a focus. It will continue as we embark on the 2023-2024 year. Rise up, Eagles!

At Mount Zion Middle, all students should be allowed to reach their highest potential in a safe, supportive environment that ensures students are prepared for success in high school and beyond. We aim to provide learning opportunities that motivate and challenge students while respecting individual differences. We will foster an environment where students are not afraid to take risks in their learning and recognize that a growth mindset will lead to tremendous success in the future.

We encourage students and parents to utilize our social media and school webpage for the most current and accurate information. We also encourage you to keep the lines of communication open by contacting teachers via email, phone calls, and conferences. As parents and guardians, you play an integral part in your child’s education, and we want you to be involved whenever possible.  We look forward to an exciting school year. If we can be of service to you, please let us know. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

David Rooks
